"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV)
Baptists have long been leaders in mission efforts near and far. There are over 10,000 Baptist missionaries world-wide that we support through the Cooperative Program and special offerings. But the most important missionary is YOU! Here are some things that we do at Crescent and some ways that you can get involved. Together we can do great things for God's Kingdom as we obey the "Great Commission."
The Elijah's Barrel is located next to the exit door on the North side of the sanctuary. Our members are encouraged to collect non-perishable food items for the Elijah's Barrel. Once a month the barrel is emptied and its contents are distributed to needy families both within our church and our community.
On the first Sunday of the month during morning services, our church collects a benevolence offering. This offering exists to support the immediate needs that arise within our body, as well as helps us reach out to those in our immediate community who may have a physical need that needs to be met.
West Anaheim Extended Care Services:
On the fourth Sunday of every month, our missions team hosts a Sunday morning church service at the West Anaheim Extended Care Facility. In addition to the service, some of our children and adults go room to room to visit the elderly individuals who are not able to make it out to the gathering. Click here to see pictures.
Annie Armstrong Offering:
Each Easter, our church participates in the Annie Armstrong offering to help support the missionaries from the the North American Missions Board.
Many of the Bible Study groups on our campus sponsor a child through different organizations, including: World Vision, and Bibles for the World.
Global Missionary Sponsorship:
Our church currently supports Joyce Boucier, a missionary based in Liverpool, England; as well as Rex & Susan Johnson, translators for Wycliffe who are based in the Philippines.
Lottie Moon Offering:
Each December, our church participates in the Lottie Moon Christmas offering to help support global missions through the Southern Baptist Convention.
